lock the doors

Lawmakers from California to Kentucky are trying to save money with a drastic and potentially dangerous budget-cutting proposal: releasing tens of thousands of convicts from prison, including drug addicts, thieves and even violent criminals.

Want to talk about pure economics? How about the potential to lose BILLIONS of dollars in production because workers will be seriously injured or killed by violent criminals released by these idiot "lawmakers."

This is no solution to the problem. The problem is that incarceration costs way too much money. The solution ought to be LOWERING the COST of incarceration; NOT ELIMINATING IT ALTOGETHER.

How about making jail life a little less comfortable? Give me one good reason that a CRIMINAL needs anything more than the basics: food, water, and shelter. I cannot imagine anything cheaper than three meals a day of bread and water in an 8x8 concrete cell.
