about time

Obama could have ended this controversy a month ago by completely denouncing Wright's racist comments. Instead, he chose to give him the "benefit of the doubt." Why? Probably because Obama seriously finds some truth in Wright's comments - a very, very scary prospect in a serious Presidential candidate. Wright hasn't changed any of his opinions - in fact, he went even further by saying that the uproar over his comments has been an attack on the "black church." Obama must have realized how much trouble Wright has been and will continue to be for his campaign - thus the reason for today's harsh criticism.

Wright's rhetoric hasn't changed. He is still a racist - and I cannot believe the media gives this idiot any airtime at all. If this were a white person spewing this hateful speech, he would never get the time of day - - in fact he would probably get a citation as was seen in Chicago a couple weeks ago when a councilwoman got a ticket for calling [black] children "monkeys" as they were climbing in a tree (like MONKEYS) - - anyway, perhaps I shouldn't be complaining because Wright is absolutely ruining Obama's chances of getting elected. yay!

Obama says this "this is not the person that [he] met 20 years ago" ... oh yeah? This isn't the man who gave a sermon about God damning America, or that the government caused AIDS? You sat through the sermons... he was your personal mentor... your buddy. This sort of HATE and RACISM does not arise suddenly just because you are running for president. Wright didn't start HATING white people after you started running for President - he has felt this way for years and you knew it!

The damage has been done.
