tap water: quenching thirst and curing diseases since 1851!

"A vast array of pharmaceuticals -- including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones -- have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans."

Chicago does what it can to force its citizens to drink its tap water, but does nothing to test the water for these possible pollutants.

Now check this out! A full page ad in the Tribune reads:

"visit the restaurants and bars listed below, and pay a buck or more for a glass of refreshing tap water. Every dollar donated helps UNICEF bring clean (really?), safe (are you sure about that?) drinking water to children all around the world who so badly need it."

Upon first glance, I wondered what they were thinking... I then realized their brilliance... If Chicago's tap water contains painkillers, heart medication, anti-depressants, anti-epileptics, anti-anxiety drugs, antibiotics, and sex hormones then UNICEF and Tapproject.org have figured out how to kill two birds with one stone. Not only are they quenching the thirsts of thousands of children, they are also giving them enough prescription meds to cure any ailment they may have!

Heroes!
