(WOODINVILLE, Wash.) Three seven-figure dream homes went up in flames early Monday in a Seattle suburb, apparently set by eco-terrorists who left a sign mocking the builders' claims that the 4,000-plus-square-foot houses were environmentally friendly.

I am almost beside words. I can find nothing logical about burning houses down to protect the environment. First of all, this group (the Earth Liberation Front) is a terrorist organization. Most importantly, I believe it is common knowledge that burning all kinds of synthetically created objects releases a tremendous amount of pollutants into the air. Surely a brand new home is full of synthetically produced items. So wouldn't burning down a home create MORE pollutants?!?! Since the types of pollutants released in house fires are not often studied, I use data from the EPA about burning refuse - which I am assuming creates comparable pollution. Go to http://www.epa.gov/msw/backyard/health.htm to learn about the deadly chemicals that are released, and there effects on human life and the environment.

You can be highly skeptical that when someone breaks social rules (especially when using violence to do so) in order to point out someone else breaking social rules that their motivation is pure. I suspect character flaws here, like these eco-terrorists would be involved in violent behavior in some form or fashion anyway. They are probably "for hire" and it's doubtful they really understand the issues at hand.
